About the role: 

Our STEM careers event for S1–S3 pupils, Careers Hive, will be Live and in-person at the National Museum of Scotland. Careers Hive is an immersive careers education event designed to give students between the ages of 11-14 a new way to think about their futures. 

As part of the Staff Management team, you will support and assist all temporary staff working at Careers Hive.  Working in a fast-paced, busy environment with a dynamic group of staff, you will manage a team of Science Communicators in delivering workshops and activities and support the team in ensuring the smooth running of events in your venue. 

Careers Hive: 2023 will run from 6 – 10 November, with an open day on Saturday 11 November.

About you: 

An excellent problem solver with a flexible approach to work, you have skills and experience in taking initiative to resolve unexpected challenges.  You will have demonstrable staff management experience in an events environment, where you will have shown to be approachable, reliable, and supportive of team members.  You will have an ability to work to a high standard under pressure, while keeping organised and available to your team. 

This role will be based at the National Museum of Scotland in central Edinburgh.  Full training will be provided in advance. 

You must be available to work full-time for all the dates during Careers Hive. Training will take place provisionally 31 October - 2 November, prior to the event.
