About the role:

Our STEM careers event for S1–S3 pupils, Careers Hive, will be at the National Museum of Scotland. Careers Hive is an immersive careers education event designed to give students between the ages of 11-14 a new way to think about their futures.

Careers Hive: 2024 will run from 28 October –2 November, with a public day on Saturday 2 November.

About you:

We are looking for Experience Guides to interact, facilitate, and engage young people through the Careers Hive exhibition and auditorium.

  • You will be a natural communicator and able to build rapport quickly and easily with young people.
  • You will be experienced and confident at presenting to and facilitating groups of young people. 
  • You will ideally have some experience (formal or informal) in youth work or in an education setting or community education setting.  A Scientific or STEM background is desirable but not essential, but you will have a passion for inspiring, encouraging and supporting the development of young people.

Training will take place on the 22 & 23 October, prior to the event.

Successful candidates for this post may be required to join the PVG scheme and subject to a criminal check through Disclosure Scotland (dependent on duties allocated).
